In reply to Alana. Thanks for your feedback Alana, it's good that teachers can get a gift they can benefit from.

my husband is a teacher and I have to say, they truly appreciate these little tokens of thanks. His favorites are always the handmade cards from his kids. They speak volumes!

Aww! This is a lovely post. I remember giving my teachers thank you cards at school, but I’m not actually sure if I gave them gifts.

I have several friends/relatives who are now (retired) teachers. Your gift ideas are good because they really benefit the teacher. My friends were so swamped by heartfelt but unusable knick knacks that only cluttered their houses. The gift card (if a parent can afford it – many can’t) and the letter of appreciation, especially, would be most appreciated.

What great ideas for a teacher gift. When my children were youngsters, I encouraged them to make personal gifts, so I like the baked goodies or the hand-written letter the best.
