I retired five years ago and the first thing I did was to take my work wardrobe pieces, suits, blazers, skirts and pants to the cleaners and then checked that all the zippers, buttons etc were in good repair. I donated them all to a place called WIN (Women In Need) where the money collected from the sale of the clothes goes to a women's shelter. But I asked if I made a donation would they in turn give my donated work clothes to someone returning to the work place after being out of work for some time. They agreed. Now, I have a "two times tries" rule, if I take something out of my closet, try it on, take it off and try it the second time and don't end up wearing it, it too goes to charity as obviously I bought in on a whim and don't really love it. I find my casual every day look has way more polish than my weekend look did when I worked - the reason - I can see everything I own at a glance. PS I also play with my clothes setting out outfits I could wear for a event that might come up that I didn't expect. Works so well with none of that "what to wear" panic we ladies do. Cheers

This sounds like a good thing to do to clean out your closet and get rid of "stuff". I've got clothes I haven't worn in years! It's terrible! I've got, like 6 basic outfits, and I don't stray too far from those. I admire your courage. :)

Hi Salma,

Keep that super heroes shirt :) I like this idea because many times we have a lot of clothing in our closet that never see the light of day. Then we go purchase even more items. This challenge will force you to have to take a hard look at what you want to keep and better yet, what you would like to donate. Thank you for sharing.
