It’s nice to bring something, but it can be intimidating to others when you appear to have it “together” with perfect baking and might make relationship-building slower. If you really want to get to know them, you should be vulnerable and ask THEM for help! Go over with a sugar emergency, and then later you can bring some of the cookies you made with their sugar!

I’ve moved around a lot but it’s only been recently that we’ve gotten to the point where we’d feel comfortable knocking on a neighbour’s door to ask for something. We made friends with three sets within the first week. Going around with baked goods would probably be a good way to introduce yourself.
