I hope everyone is enjoying the last few weeks of summer vacation. We’re still loving this beautiful weather and we’ve done some fun things this week which I’m sharing in this instalment of 3 Things Thursday.
1. First Medals
The kids just finished up their first Summer Reading Program with the Coquitlam Public Library. On the weekend they had a ceremony where they were presented with a medal from the Mayor of Coquitlam for their reading accomplishments over the summer. The kids were so proud of the first medals they have ever received, and so was mom! (Kyah may not look too impressed in the picture below, but she really was excited!)
2. What Women Say
I came across this picture on Instagram and I had to share it because…it’s true. When I showed my husband, he said that I’ve said all these things. I had to reply with the fact that I have never said the BONUS WORD. I guess they really are “Five Deadly Terms Used by a Woman.”
3. Garage Sales
On the weekends during the summer, we’ve been stopping at garage sales just for fun. It’s been really great, almost like a treasure hunt. The kids look forward to it to see what they can find and it also teaches them about being thrifty and how to recycle and reuse. Not to mention, Keyan’s found some amazing Lego sets from back in the day.
Those are my 3 Things, I’d love to hear about how your week’s been! Just write up a blog post, grab the 3 Things Thursday badge and link up below. Also, make sure to check out my fabulous co-hosts. This week, Raj from Pink Chai Living is on a family vacation so she won’t be able to join in, but I’m sure she’ll have tons to share when she gets back. And make sure to pop by and visit Nisha from Love Laugh Mirch and see what she’s got going on this week.
Happy Thursday!
I love garage sales!!!
Congrats to the cutiepies for the medals and seems like they enjoyed the garage sale too 🙂
Hi Salma,
Congrats on the awards your children received. I am sure you were a very proud mom and you should be. I have to comment on the image reference 5 deadly terms used by a woman. I am not married but just reading those terms brought back memories of my marriage 🙂 🙂 Thanks for sharing.
That’s so great that your kids got awards for their summer reading! It’s important to instill a love of reading when they are so young – so keep up the good work! I hate to admit I’ve said all of the things on that list – even the Bonus Word!
Selma, congrts to little ones for the award:-)
I love that medal idea! I may have to borrow it for my next summer program. I love that “What women says” infographic. It’s spot on.
Great shares- great job to your kids- ours just started school too- so nice to be back in routine 😉
I was so happy to see your childrens’ reading medals. Good for you and good for them! And good for a town that cares so much about reading that the mayor presents the medals.
Congratulating on the award it’s wonderful reading was apart of their summer. I remember my mom had us read during the summer. I’m glad, I still love reading to this day. My children as well.
Congrats & well done. Neatly put – 3 things / for weekend. Njoy
