Thanks for stopping by to read this week’s 3 Things Thursday. Today I have three very random things to share with you but they are held together with one little thread; they all make me smile 🙂
1. Thanksgiving & Family
This year, as usual, we had two family dinners. One was at my MIL’s house where we had the traditional, massive turkey with all the fixings. The we had a dinner at my mom’s house with individual game hens, amazing scalloped potatoes and vegetables made by my sister who is in culinary school. It was nice to spend the weekend with family. Â On FB, I saw so many Thanksgiving family photos, so we were inspired to take our own family selfie to capture the fun long weekend, (which was slightly photo-bombed by my chef sister.)
2. Friends
I love the show Friends! I can probably repeat conversations that happened on the show by heart such as Chandler saying,” Despite the yummy bagels and palpable tension,” when Rachel came in with Paolo or Ross telling Joey about how his tailer measure pants, “Yes, that’s how they do it…in prison!!!”
I already loved the show but my obsession deepened when I first moved to Winnipeg after getting married. I didn’t really know anyone and my husband was busy at school, so Ross, Rachel, Chandler, Monica, Phoebe and Joey kind of became my friends, (yes, I know it’s a little sad.) There is a reason I’m telling you all this. As part of the Netflix Canada #streamteam, I got an email this morning telling me that the complete Friends series will be available on Netflix starting January first, the perfect day to stay in and binge watch your (my) favourite show! Of course I had to share this exciting news with all of you 🙂
3. Tea Cups
They’re so small but they are pretty fabulous! My husband and I recently secured six small yet awesome tea cups and saucers. I’ve never been a big one for china, but these just called out to me for some reason and now they are in our cupboards. And no, we don’t just save them for guests, we use them whenever we want to enjoy a nice cup of chai.
Those are my 3 Things Thursday this week. I’d love to read about the three things on your mind this week! It’s really easy to join in the fun, just grab the 3 Things Thursday badge, write a blog post, then link back to either me, Salma at The Write Balance, Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch or Raj at Pink Chai Living and link up below. It’s super easy and it’s a fun way to meet new people, get new readers to your blog and just share what’s happening in your week.
Happy Thursday!
brownies and ice cream with a rocking game of Clue (or any other board game) at someone’s place. who doesn’t like any one of those three things?
Sounds like a pretty good 3 things Keyur 🙂
What a fun (if eclectic!) list! I’d have fun joining you watching Friends – thinking about big pink bunnies and fear of Triscuits! 😉
Who can forget Chandler’s pink bunny costume 🙂
I heard the Friends thing on the radio this morning and was stoked! I have all seasons on DVD, except 1 & 2 are on VHS {wow, lol}…but it will be nice not to have to pull out the DVDs when I want to do a marathon – which is like always.
I could use a good marathon myself Morgan!
I love friends… it helped me through my second’s newborn days!! ANd I love drinking chai for a lovely tea-cup as well…. so much more civilized 🙂
I feel that Friends has helped a lot of people Sarita 🙂
I am so excited about Friends!! I heard about it on the radio yesterday. I love those simple tea cups.
Me too and thank you 🙂
What fun things to make you smile this week! You have such a cute family! My daughter just told me that friends was coming on Netflix – we never really watched it, so it will give us something new to enjoy. 🙂
It was a really great show, I hope you enjoy it Heidi.
We’ve picked up some very fancy single tea cups at local auctions when we see on that is unique. Sometimes they get quite expensive!
I believe you!
Hi Salma,
Thanks for sharing your Thanksgiving selfie pics!! Great post!
Thank you Joan.
I might watch Friends from the start to the end. There was a lot of the last couple seasons that I missed because of where I was in my life. So, it might be nice to see it all the way through.
Now you’ll be able to catch up on what you missed!
I love the idea of three things Thursday, (and enjoy Friends here in the states, too! I can definitely picture the episode with Joey’s visit to the tailor who measures pants the way the do in prison!). Now, if I can ever figure out how to make WordPress let me put up a badge, I might just join you!
The tailor episode was a classic! And it would be great if you want to join in #3thingsthursday. If you can’t figure out the badge, join in anyway!!
Love those tea cups, simple elegance.
Thank you Marilyn
love it! i’d like to take part in the three things thursday. fun and whimsy…. okay, the same way you are about friends, my whole family is like that about Will & Grace. quotes from the show come up in our every day conversation. its fun for us but a little sad. have you ever been to the warner brothers studio tour in california? they have so many things from the friends set. if you would like, i could email you my pictures from it. its pretty cool. another fact, after syndication, each star on friends earns $20 million dollars PER YEAR for the rest of their lives. it was that successful. thats just ludicrous.
anyway, loved your article, as i was not familiar with the three things. maybe some time you could write about 3 things you loved as a kid, maybe toys. 😉
You should definitely join in with #3ThingsThursday Melody!! Will and Grace was a great show too! I knew they earned a lot but I didn’t know it was that much!!
What a neat idea for a regular posting! And high 5 – another Friends fan here!
Thanks Mel.
You have a beautiful family! I’m right there with you when it comes to teacups. I’ve started collecting them. They’re so much more fun than mugs and glasses.
I love your three things, Salma. And what an adorable family you have. All 4 of you are beautiful. Yes, I love friends too. I’d like to invite your sister to my house to cook for me. And I love your little tea set. 🙂
Thank you Jeanne and you have to join in one day!
I am loving those tea cups. So elegant. Although I am also a huge fan of a big fat mug to keep me going 🙂
You gotta do what works Victoria 🙂
Happy belated thanksgiving, and glad to hear of someone else who enjoys Friends as much as I do. I think I could recite many of the episodes too. As for the tea, I need the BIIIIIGGGG mugs 😉
Another lover of Friends!
