It time for our weekly Thursday chat where I share with you three things from my week and then I ask you to do the same. But I’m getting ahead of myself. Let me share first and then ask 🙂
1. Jamberry Nails
I never wear nail polish on my fingers. Toes yes, but never on my fingers because for me, between washing dishes and giving the kids baths, it never lasts more than a day or two without chipping. Enter Heather Hooton and Jamberry Nails. She told me to give them a try because there are so many great designs and they can last up to two weeks. I picked a fun design and waited for my order to arrive.
After I got them, read the instructions and watched the video, I got to work after the kids had gone to bed. The instructions were pretty straight forward, but I think it took be longer to apply because it was my first time. Once they were done, I was in love with them! They look so great and I got so many compliments! Now I’m trying to figure out what design to get next. If you’re interested in trying them out, make sure to get in touch with Heather. She is such an expert that she can put her Jamberry Nails on while breastfeeding her baby!
2. The Socks Matching Game
I’m sure I’m not the only one that does laundry and then somehow ends up with so many single socks!! Then I keep those socks in hopes of one day finding the matching pair. So one day I did ALL the laundry in the house, gathered all the leftover single socks and then started a game with my 3-year old daughter. First we laid out and sorted all the socks by color and then we played the matching game. Kyah had fun doing it and we ended up with so many pairs. Putting your children to work and making it into a game, that is what parenting is all about.
3. Ella Shoes
I also had a chance to visit the most amazing shoe store last weekend, Ella Shoes, in Metrotown. I walked in and I knew I was in trouble. All around me were the most gorgeous shoes you have ever seen. And not just that. They were all handcrafted European shoes that were also the most comfortable I had ever tried on! And boy did I try shoes on.
Below are a few that I tested out. I was finally able to settle on one pair and it’s in the picture below. Can you guess with ones they are? I promise to tell you guys soon. In the meanwhile you should definitely check out their website, Ella Shoes, your mouths will drop.
Those are a few of the things I wanted to tell you about from my week and now it’s your turn to share. Write a blog post about your 3 Things Thursday. Grab the badge from the top of my post. Make sure to link back to either myself, Salma at The Write Balance, Raj at Pink Chai Living or Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch. Then click on the linky below to add your post. It’s that simple. I can’t wait to read about your week. Happy Thursday!
A colleague of mine went to a Jamberry party and raved about it. Would you say it’s easier to paint your nails or go to the Jamberry route?
Hey Parita, I wouldn’t say it’s easier to use Jamberry nails but it seems worth the time investment to me. I’ve had it on for 7 days now and no chipping. Plus there are so many designs so they look really cool!
Sock matching as a game! Genius! I’ll be trying that this weekend with the kids. Thanks for sharing!
Why thanks you, not often I get called a genius 😉
Oh my gosh, socks are my nemesis! Love that you turned it into a game! And the boots…I think you got front row, second from the left. Can’t wait to see if I’m right!
Socks are such a nemesis! And I will let you know soon which shoe I picked 🙂
I love that you made a game of matching socks! That is always such a nightmare – setting aside single socks in the hopes that the mate will eventually turn up.
It’s hard to give up hope that the mate will one day show up Tazim! At least I’m not alone in feeling like this 🙂
SOCK GAME!!! LOVE it. I have a sock monster so, I need to track that down FIRST. And hello GORGEOUS shoes.
Thanks Danielle!
Great week! A friend sent me jamberry nails a month or so ago.. I have yet to try them. I love the sock matching game, and I would take ALL of the boots 😉
You should definitely try the nails Mary! And I would take all the boots too lol.
Your nails look amazing! I’m not one for nail polish either with the amount that I use my hands, but maybe I’ll consider it. As for the matching socks game…I tend to just wear odd socks. I did find a bin bag full of clothes that have been missing since we moved house though! Turned out they were put in the shed accidentally. They’re now out and there are a lot of single socks that I’ve been wondering about 🙂
It’s been 7 days Alexandria and they are still on so you should give them a try. And maybe you’ll find the mate for all those all odd socks now!
I need to play the matching socks game. I buy highly colored running socks (it’s become a trademark for me) although I don’t run, and I keep losing them. No idea where they end up.
It’s such a mystery Alana!
Those nails look divine!
Thank you Tamsin 🙂
I see so much stuff about Jamberry but have never tried them. I think the time may be coming soon. 🙂 Sounds like you had an eventful week. My 3 things this week would all be related to work so not too much fun (Yes I enjoy it, but not sure it is worthy of an actual blog post 🙂 )
You should try them once Cindy and see what you think. And the holiday’s are coming up so I’m sure you’ll have more blog post worthy things happening 😉
I think I might look into Jamberry too. I’ve heard about it but never really knew what it was all about. Your little girl and the sock. She is so adorable. And what a fun game to invent for her! Boots. Which ones did you buy? I like the black ones in the upper left corner. Ciao!
You should try them Jeanne! And I will tell you which boots in an upcoming blog post!
Yay for new shoes! I’m so glad you were able to find some cute comfortable ones. And I really hope you chose the brown boots in the back 🙂
The brown boots are super nice but I actually ended up with the grey ones 🙂
