It’s that time of the week for me to be sharing some of my favourite things, 3 Things Thursday, so lets jump right in!
1. Family Day Fun
Monday was Family Day here in BC. It’s a holiday which was created to give people time to spend with their families and that is just what we did! The four of us headed over to the Pacific Coleseum to catch our first Vancouver Giants hockey game, courtesy of Telus. We had a great time!
We had fun with some of our favourite blogger families, Pink Chai and Mumfection. We also got to enjoy the Telus suite which had a great view, delicious healthy food, comfortable seats and of course the fabulous hosts! Vancouver won which was an added bonus. After the game, we got the opportunity to head downstairs and meet the players. The kids loved getting all their autographs. All-in-all, a pretty great family day wouldn’t you say?
2. Homemade Valentine’s Day Cards
Yesterday we finished making the kids Valentine’s Day cards for their classes. For Kyah we made Pet Rock Valentine’s which turned out so cute! For Keyan we made bouncy ball cards. It was a really great afternoon of activity. Plus, they were able to practicing their printing skills by writing their names on their own, more than 20 times each. They also really enjoyed stapling, gluing and drawing the smiles.
Here’s a link to how we put these cards together. If you are wanting to do some Valentine themed crafts and activities with your kids, check out this Pinterest Board.
3. Valentine’s Day Gift Guide
Some people love Valentine’s Day, some not so much. But if you’re big on this day of love then I would definitely recommend checking out Coquitlam Centre’s Valentine’s Gift Guide for all the loves in your life from your mom, baby daddy and siblings to your bestie, teenagers and wee ones! Lots of fun, unique and feel-good present ideas.
Those are my three things this week and now I’d love to hear yours. If you want to participate and share your #3ThingsThursday, here’s what you need to do. Write a blog post about three things you want to share. Grab the badge from the top of my post. Make sure to link back to either myself, Salma at The Write Balance, Raj at Pink Chai Living or Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch. Then click on the linky below to add your post. It’s that easy. Can’t wait to read about your three things.
Happy Thursday!
Family Day looked like a blast. I can’t wait for ours this upcoming week!!!
It was Sarita! I hope your family day weekend is going well too!
Love the Valentines Salma! Those pet rocks are so cute – I kind of wish I was on Kyah’s list 🙂
I’ll put you on Kyah’s list next year Raj 😉
Those Valentine’s are so cute! I love rocks and my kids collect them now, too. I think their collection would be more lively with googly eyes 🙂 Glad you had an awesome Family Day – I’m so glad we finally got one in B.C.!
Thanks Taslim. I think that would be a fun addition to their rock collection 🙂
Aww ! homemade Valentine’s Day gifts are the best! What fun craft projects.
It was a lot of fun, thanks Tazim!
I love that BC has a Family Fun Day. What a great way to encourage spending time with family.
Looks like you had a fabulous time at the Giants game. Those valentine pet rocks are too cute. What a great non-sweet way to participate in the holiday at school.
Did you make the bouncy balls from a kit?
It was a fun family day Sara! I actually bought the bouncy balls from the big vending machine at Old Navy! Then we bought the clear bags from the craft section at the dollar store.
Wow looks like you had such a fun week! Family Day! Why don’t they do that in the US?! I’d love to participate in the blog challenge but my week was pretty boring, lol 🙂 Do you do this (or other topics) every week?
They should celebrate in the US too Jennifer! And yes, we do 3 Things Thursday every week and it can be about any three things you want!
Aren’t you the greatest Mom! Wow. I wish I had your energy and enthusiasm. Cute cards, and no sugar involved. Bravo, Mom.
Awww, thanks Jeanne, you’re too kind!
