It’s Thursday, time for me to share three things from my week. Today I have three random, fun and interesting 3 Things Thursday to share with you.
1. Pampr
I had to tell you about this first because I am so excited! Tomorrow, the hubby and I are getting a couples massage at home! There is a company called Pampr that has recently launched in Vancouver and Seattle and we are going to try them out. We have both been talking about getting massages for a while and now it’s sort of like a combination with a date night. Can’t wait and I will let you all know how it goes.
2. The Joy of Missing Out
Sometimes the amount of technology in our lives does get overwhelming, but it is part of life today. I was really intrigued when I came across a new book called The Joy of Missing Out. It’s the story of a women who says goodbye to the Internet for 31 days. I mean growing up, I totally lived with out internet and technology but today, with the field of work I’m in, I can’t even imagine it! It’ll be interesting to read what happens.
3. Be Your Own Best Friend (BYOBF)
Last night I attended my first BYOBF Network event, a professional networking group for South Asian women that provides them with an opportunity to network in a safe and fun environment. The theme last night was creating balance through health and fitness. I really enjoyed the evening. Met some great women and did some networking. Also had a good workout and got great tips in regards to wellness thanks to Catalyst Kinetics and Jason Sarai. Can’t wait for the the next event!
Those are my 3 Things Thursday and now I’d love to hear about yours. All you have to do is write a blog post about three things you want to share from your week. Grab the badge from the top of my post. Make sure to link back to either myself, Salma at The Write Balance, Raj at Pink Chai Living or Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch. Then click on the linky below to add your post. It’s that simple. I can’t wait to read your post!
Happy Thursday!
Sounds like a really productive day!
It has been a full week, that’s for sure!
That networking event sounds wonderful!! Enjoy your massage, friend!!
thanks Sarita!
I keep forgetting about this linky – must add it to my calendar!
I like your list. Hubby and I had wanted to do a couple massage when we were in Punta Cana for my daughter’s destination wedding – unfortunately, we were low on cash, so we had to skip the treat!
The book sounds fascinating, but I honestly couldn’t do it, since my work and my doctoral studies are all online!
The BYOBF networking idea sounds amazing!
Thanks for sharing!
Thanks for stopping by Karen and yes, please do link up, it’s so much fun!
Hi Salma! I love massages and hope you and the hubs have a fabulous time! And I am SO GLAD you are reading JOMO! Then I have someone to chat with about it! It’s a great book, full of amazing – and scary – information about what the internet is doing to us as individuals, families and communities. There are definitely things I can do without when it comes to online activity – even as a professional in the digital world. Enjoy!
We did have a great time, thanks you and I’m looking forward to reading JOMO. Just gotta finish my current book first!
I’ve heard about that book and I know a few people who chose to take a month off from the internet. It’s a great thing to do if your work would allow it. Unfortunately, like you, mine doesn’t.
It definitely does peak the curiosity to see how it worked out.
I’ve always thought about joining a BYOBF event but haven’t yet – sounds like it might be a good idea to check it out! 31 days without the internet? I might have to go out in the middle of nowhere where I can’t possibly connect anyway!
It was a fun event Tazim. And yes, I night have to join you to do the challenge as well!
Pampr sounds like a dream come true! Oh my goodness, I’m going to check to see if they’re in New York- fingers crossed.
It was a really great experience Sojourner!
