It is time for the weekly 3 Things Thursday. If this is your first time here, this is when I share with you, three of my favourite things from the week. If you are a blogger and you’d like to join in, it’s easy! Just follow the instructions at the bottom of this post. Happy Thursday All!
1. KM Club
This Monday at Keyan’s school, they started the KM Club. Everyday after school for 15 days, kids (siblings and parents) run and walk around a designated area for half an hour. The kids get a popsicle stick for each round to represent 1/2 a km. Keyan’s goal is 55 Km so that he can get the gold medal. On the first day he did 3km so he is definitely on track to his goal and he is one determined kid! He even lapped me…ehm…twice.
2. The Proposal
Yesterday I got a blast from the past when Vicki Singh from Cultural Weddings got in touch with me to to tell me that they would be re-sharing my proposal and wedding story that they published in their wedding planner so many years ago, only this time online. Reading it was like reliving such a big moment from the past. It also made me question why I had allowed so much to be shared and made myself so vulnerable. But now it’s out there so I thought I’d let you guys take a look too and be wow’d at my hubby’s proposal
3. Hairband Organization
Last week Friday was a Pro-D day and my MIL took the kids for a few hours. So I took the opportunity to do a big tidying of the house. And here’s what came out of it. My daughter has way too many hairbands and the little box I keep them in just wasn’t working. I was hit with an inspirational idea, even if I do say so myself. I grabbed pin tacks, (not sure that’s what they’re called) put them at my daughters level, then hung her hairbands on them. They look great and it’s easy for her to reach, take and put away herself.
Those are my three things this week. As promised, here’s how you can participate. Write a blog post about three things you want to share. Grab the badge from the top of my post. Make sure to link back to either myself, Salma at The Write Balance, Raj at Pink Chai Living or Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch. Then click on the linky below to add your post. It’s that simple.
What a wonderful proposal! So much thought, brought a tear to my eye. You look stunning in your wedding photos as well. Thanks for sharing a very special 3 Things Thursday! Wishing you and your husband many happy years together.
Thank yo so much Gemma, it is defiantly worth a tear or two 😉
Wow!!! That wedding proposal seriously gave me goosebumps!! So incredibly sweet and thoughtful! Btw, you look absolutely gorgeous in the pictures! Very happy for you both and best wishes! 🙂
Oh… and love the headband idea and good luck to Keyan, I know he’ll reach his goal!
Thanks so much Reshma!
Hmmm…tried commenting but it didn’t go through! Trying again 🙂 I love the km club idea! Great way to get kids and parents moving! And the hairband organizing idea is brilliant – doesn’t have to be so complicated, does it? I love that she can reach it herself. That is KEY to keeping your life simple, too! Also, I am slightly (read: super) envious right now that you were able to organize your home without kids around. I’ll have to figure out how to do that, too! (fairy godmother?)
yes, it worked this time! And yes, fairy godmothers can be very helpful!
Such an awesome proposal! Loved all the detail and planning! Hearing people’s proposal stories is something I’ll never get sick of. 🙂
Thanks Parita. Hearing about peoples proposals are so fun!
We have tons of hair bans ourself but I don’t like lots of stuff on the wall, maybe I’ll do it inside her closet or something!!
That’s a good idea Sarita!
Oh my gosh Salma – I remember reading about your proposal in that planner forever ago, and I remember how amazing I thought it was, but I never realized it was you and Zamil! So sweet 🙂
PS: Headbands on the wall, brilliant!
PPS: I miss hanging out with you – just for fun … hugs 🙂
That is such a coincidence Raj! And yes, lets hang out soon 🙂
