Birthday Breakfast

Keyan recently celebrated his fourth birthday. He was very excited about it and of course I wanted to make it a special day for him.

In the morning when he woke up and came into my room, we gave him his birthday present which he loved, as you can see from the big smile on his face!

Then Kyah gave him a birthday hug. I love it when they hug! It’s so adorable! And when they are older and always fighting, I can show them these pictures to prove that they really did love each other at one point.

For his birthday breakfast, Keyan had specifically requested banana chocolate chip waffles. So I started getting everything out to prepare it and then I saw that I had no eggs! I really didn’t want to go to the store to buy eggs so I explained the situation to Keyan and told him that I would still give him a special birthday breakfast. He was okay with it as long as it included chocolate chips.

So I came up with something simple, delicious, healthy and fun. All you need is:
Your favorite yogurt, we used peach.
Three to four different fruits cut up into small pieces. I used raspberries, banana’s and strawberries.
And of course chocolate chips.

Then give the kids the yogurt in a bowl and a spoon and let them choose what they want to put in it. They will love it! Granted, my kids don’t really look like they are loving it, but I guess I just snapped the picture at the wrong time because they definitely enjoyed this breakfast. And I served it with a side of chicken bacon.

This breakfast, of course, has endless possibilities and choices. It’s like your own healthy sundae bar. You could use options like granola, slivered nuts, shredded coconut, blueberries, mango, sprinkles and dry cereal. The options really are endless.

I had a very happy birthday boy and we made the banana chocolate chips waffles the next day.

What’s your go to breakfast that the kid’s love?
