Chocolate Cake in Two Minutes!

Today is National Cake Day. Who doesn’t love cake, and today is the perfect excuse to eat some! But if you don’t have time to bake a cake or go out and buy one, I found a very fast chocolate cake recipe in a magazine that you make in a cup and cook in the microwave for two minutes!

My three-year old and I decided to try it out tonight.

Here is the ingredients list:

3 tbsp vegetable oil
3 tbsp whole milk
1 large egg
1/4 tsp vanilla extract
3 tbsp all-purpose flour
3 tbsp + 2 tsp sugar
2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder

In a medium-sized microwave safe cup, put in the vegetable oil, milk, egg and vanilla. Whisk it well with a fork (or a small whisk.) Get they kids to help out in this very simple recipe.
Add the flour, sugar, and cocoa. Keyan wanted to add a few chocolate chips as well. Mix very well.
The whisking is key in making this cake. So whisk until it’s smooth and creamy.
Put it in the microwave and cook for 2 minutes. Be careful when you take it out of the microwave, it’ll be hot! Eat it warm. When we tried it, it was actually pretty good. What would make it better is a dollop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Here are Keyan and my hubby, excited to try out the chocolate cake. (And as a side note, the creepy moustache is for Movember.)
Happy National Cake Day. It’s still not too late to try out this recipe! If you do, let me know what you thought of it.
