Exercise is an important part of my life and I make sure to include it in my schedule on a regular basis. Sometimes though, your body can get used to the same routine or get bored. That’s why it’s good to change things up and try new things.
I started doing just that, a few months ago. Through a friend, I found out about an outdoor bootcamp that runs in my neighbourhood. It’s called HIIT The Hills, a name I love! It’s bootcamp that is held outdoors a few times a week, usually at 6am for one hour. There is running, mixed with strength exercises, interval training and then weights, abs and stretching at the end.
I found it to not only to be a good workout, it was challenging as well. I also deal with some knee issues and Monica, the instructor, (who is also a WAHM) was really helpful in making me feel comfortable about going at my own pace and modifying where I needed to, yet she still pushed us to work hard! I mean, it is a bootcamp, right?
What I also really like about the early morning bootcamp is that when I get home, just after 7am, the kids have just woken up and I already have my workout done and out of the way. The rest of the day is free to do whatever needs to be done.
If you are interested, make sure to check out HIIT The Hills on Facebook and you can try out your first class for FREE!
Is an outdoor bootcamp something you have ever tried or would try?
What a wonderful idea. Love morning workouts!! That’s way it’s done!,
Morning workouts are the best!
Awesome – I really have to try a morning workout routine. I am so inspired by you!
Thanks so much Kamana!
At this point of my life, where balance is my main concern, I might try a morning outdoor tai chi class. In this climate, most of the time it would have to be indoors. But it’s good you are doing this – you will thank yourself when you are older.
Wow, you go girl! I wish I had the motivation and discipline to wake up early in the morning for a bootcamp, let alone a quick run.
