Getting Creative

I’ll admit, I’m not the craftiest person. Yes I am creative in my own way and I love to do fun crafts with my kids but it’s nothing like those amazing crafts you see on Pinterest and craft blogs, so I thought I whould just leave it up to the professionals.

But then I heard about a fun West Coast Creative event being put on by Crystal from Sew Creative Blog and Tara from Suburble and decided to check it out. I am so glad that I went because it turned out to be a wonderful night with friends, new and old, good food and I found out that apparently I can paint.

Our host for the night was Simone, the owner of 4 Cats Kerrisdale, a fabulous art studio where anyone can go to get their paint on. You can take classes, have birthday parties and even create your own Van Gogh inspired painting. I was pretty skeptical at first, but Simone was an amazing teacher and I ended up going home with a canvas I was proud of.

Deland from Counting Sheep Coffee stopped by to give each us a bag of coffee to take home. It’s actually pretty awesome stuff, coffee that helps you sleep at night! We also heard from Skye from Mandala Sky Clothing who shared her success story and how dreams can become a reality! She also gave a custom designed t-shirt to each of us who attended.

We also got to try out Milestone’s delicious Fall Menu while we chatted. And of course no night with bloggers is complete without some swag and this one was a good one:

Reusable shopping bag from Superstore
 Stencils from Royal Design Studio
– Folk Art Paint, Chalk Paint & Modge Podge from Plaid
Party Supplies from Pick Your Plum
– Custom Designed Shirt from Mandala Sky
– Coffee from Counting Sheep Coffee

And of course I can’t forget about the very talented Lindsay Faber took all the beautiful photos in the collages you see above.

Thanks so much to West Coast Creative Company and all the sponsors for putting on such a great event and helping me bring out my inner creative self 🙂

  1. It looks like you all had a lot of fun. Events like this are a great way to catch up with old friends and connect with everyone. That menu looked yummy as well. Thanks for sharing.
