As I got ready to write this week’s 3 Things Thursday, I was worried that I didn’t have enough things to fill the post as it seems like it hasn’t been a very eventful week. But here I have three random things to share for week 42.
1. Milk Frothers
So I’ve decided to try and make my own latte’s at home. There are many reasons for this. Recently I’ve grown rather found of lattes and have been craving them more often. My husband also buys a green tea latte at least once a day. Being the thrifty person that I am, that can really add up. Plus, sometimes there are extra ingredients in there that aren’t really the best for you. So over the next little while I will be researching and trying out different frothers and latte makers and I will bring you the results of my research. Wish me luck because I have a lot to live up to.
2. Games that are Chores
A few weeks back, I invented a game for the kids which was actually a chore where they matched and paired socks from the laundry. And now I’ve done it again! I was unloading the dishwasher when I had an epiphany. Putting away the utensils is always the most annoying part. Not anymore. Instead, I set all the forks and spoons on the table for my three year old. She first sorts them by size (big forks, small forks etc.) Then puts them in the proper spot on the tray. She loves it so much that she asks me to take them all out so she can do it again. Pretty brilliant if you ask me 🙂
The latest song that’s gotten stuck in my head is Jason Derula’s ‘Trumpets.” It has really great music that’s catchy and fun. Yes, there are some odd lines like, “Your bra reminds me of a Katie Perry song,” but it’s definitely one of those songs that you can listen to over and over again. (In fact I’m listening to this song right now and bopping along as I write this post.)
Those are my random thoughts for this week’s edition of #3ThingsThursday. Now it’s your turn to share. Write a blog post about your 3 Things Thursday. Grab the badge from the top of my post. Make sure to link back to either myself, Salma at The Write Balance, Raj at Pink Chai Living or Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch. Then click on the linky below to add your post. It’s that simple. I can’t wait to read about your week. Happy Thursday!

I would be interested in your milk frother research. We had a cappuccino maker several years ago (Black and Decker?) it didn’t work for very long. And, we can’t afford any of the super-expensive machines. My random week? Snow, ice and cold. That about sums it up!
We don’t want to spend a lot of money so brothers are a good alternative. And I hope it warms up for you soon!
Hello, I’m visiting from the UBC. The random stuff you shared brought a smile on my face. I especially liked the way you turned a boring chore into a fun activity for your kid! Now parenting called for smart work rather than hardwork 😀
Thanks for stoping by 🙂 And I like that, smart parenting!
Milk frothers are great, we have one which you manually have to pump up and down once it’s placed in hot milk. I haven’t had a coffee from Starbucks in ages. I prefer Costa!
I haven’t hear of Costa. Is it in London?
I look forward to seeing your milk frother research. I have been enjoying Matcha almond milk lattes recently and a good frother would make it a lot easier! The games and chores are very creative!
That sounds delicious! I will make sure to post once all my research is done!
Please do let me know your frothing secrets. The front that looks and feels like Starbucks is definitely worth the pursuit! Also … I got both kids emptying the cutlery (minus the knifes) when they turned 1.. they loved getting into the dishwasher so I figured why not! I guess the next step is getting them to put it into the tray-guess what I’ll be teaching/playing with them this week!
Love the forks n spoon game idea 🙂 Good one !
I don’t drink coffee but I know from listening to my friends that it’s a habit that can suck a lot of cash out your wallet! Good for you for creative about how you can enjoy your lattes and still have money left over…to shop! 🙂
Love #2 – so creative and cute!!!
This reminds me that I have a milk frother! I’ve never used it before – thanks for the reminder.
I will definitely be turning chores into games! I feel like that’s the only way I’ll be able to stay sane 🙂 LOL!
