This is my week for being behind. For some reason, I am just not myself this week and I can’t seem to keep up with all my roles and responsibilities. But that happens to everyone right? In fact, it’s actually Thursday afternoon as I write my #3ThingsThursday post. I don’t think in the 45 weeks that we’ve been doing this that I’ve ever started writing so late. But I’m doing it and that’s the important thing. Plus, I have lots of fun stuff to share this week, so here goes!
1. The First Hockey Game
My 5 year-old, went to his first real NHL hockey game last weekend with his dad. Despite the fact that the Canucks lost, he had such a fun time and can’t wait for the next one. It’s big first in this house and I love that I can share it on my blog and he’ll always have that memory.
2. Girls Night of Painting at 4Cats Art Studio
A while back, the kids and I were invited to a great event where we got to paint and build clay penguins. So when I got invited to a girls night of painting at 4Cats, of course I jumped at the opportunity! It was an eventing of snacks, good conversations and a group painting lesson were we worked on our own inspiration of Van Gough’s Starry Nights.
Now I’m no professional painter, but the owners, Marnie and Lisa are so helpful and patient that I ended up with a painting that I was proud of. Next week, we are signed up for a family workshop where the four of will be creating a splatter painting. It sounds like messy fun and we can’t wait!!
3. Mashup
Have you ever heard a mashup before? It’s a popular phenomenon with songs from Bollywood films. Usually there are about 4-5 songs in one movie. All those songs are taken, broken into smaller bits and then remixed together. It’s actually pretty awesome! If you look up mashup on YouTube, you will get lots of results. My favourite right now is the Student of the Year Mashup. Take a look:
Those are my three things this week. If you want to participate and share your 3 Things Thursday, here’s what you need to do. Write a blog post about three things you want to share. Grab the badge from the top of my post. Make sure to link back to either myself, Salma at The Write Balance, Raj at Pink Chai Living or Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch. Then click on the linky below to add your post. It’s that simple.
Happy Thursday!
What a fun mash up! Also bravo on the painting – looks great!
Mashup are great, especially to dance too!
That tiny boy in the hockey outfit is a sight for sore eyes. How adorable. The innocent excitement shining from his eyes makes a compelling picture. I haven’t done three things to write about this week. Save those for someone younger.
He really did have a wonderful time Francene! And you are definitely not to old for three things 🙂
All I can share right now is snow, more snow, below zero (F) temps and wind chills. Time for something warm to drink. The girls painting night sounds like fun.
I hope it warms up for you soon! And the painting night was lots of fun!
Well, I’d say for not being “all together” this week, you did a great job of sharing some pretty special moments!
Thanks Amy!
Not a bad effort Salma! Love all things Bollywood – you can’t feel anything but happy with that 🙂 Apart from blogging regularly this week, starting with a Personal Trainer (ouch) and reconnecting with some friends it’s been pretty quiet this side.
Bollywood is pretty fabulous Mel 😉 A personal trainer and friends is a good addition to the week.
Nice Mashup. I’ve never heard of that term before. I do watch Bollywood films on Netflix. Some of the greatest love stories are in Bollywood films. (in my opinion)
Your painting looks lovely. Sounds like a fun thing to do with your family. Can’t wait for the update and pics of the resulting splatter paintings.
There are some pretty great Bollywood movies on Netflix! And we really enjoyed the splatter painting, I’ll post the end results when we get them back 🙂
