I’ve been feeling really good this week. I came back from my first ever trip to New York (which I will blog about soon) and I had a chance to catch up on a little reading. Specifically it was a few more chapters of The Happiness Project. Even though it’s taking me a long time to read, every time I do, I feel more inspired and happier. I think today’s 3 Things Thursday reflects a lot of that.
1. Favourite Part of the Day
On Monday, I started a new daily ritual in our family, the #favoritepartoftheday. The kids and I went out to buy some notebooks. Then we brought out the old label maker to individualize them. The goal is to write down and illustrate at least one thing in your day that made you happy.
At dinner time, we talk about our day and tell each other what the best part was. It can be anything, even something small like blowing bubbles in the driveway or big like going to a hockey game. The point is for us to talk about our day as a family and pinpoint our favourite part. Then write it down for a lovely memory that we can all read and smile about in the future.
2. Pampered Goddess Retreat
I am super excited to be attending the my first ever Goddess Experience with Pampered Goddess. It’s a mini-retreat, at the end of May, for women to celebrate, inspire and express their inner goddesses. Sometimes life gets so busy, we forget who we are or what we want. This experience is a retreat in nature with workshops to awaken the different parts of your inner goddess. If it’s piqued you interest like it did mine, you can find out more info here.
3. Blessed
April has been beautiful here in Vancouver. The flowers are blooming, the sun is shining and the temperatures have been so great! The kids and I have been enjoying and taking advantage by going to the park, playing in the driveway and leaving our winter jackets at home. It seems like a small thing, but it’s those small things that I have been appreciating so much more lately and definitely feeling blessed.
Those are my #3ThingsThursday this week. A couple weeks ago our link-up celebrated it’s one year birthday with a giveaway. We randomly selected a winner and it was one of our favourite people, Taslim from Let Me Out! Congratulations to Taslim and we love reading your 3 Things Thursday posts each week, very inspiring.
If you would like to link-up with us for 3 Things Thursday, it’s very simple. All you need to do is write a blog post about three things you want to share from your week. Grab the badge from the top of my post. Make sure to link back to either myself, Salma at The Write Balance, Raj at Pink Chai Living or Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch. Then click on the linky below to add your post. It’s that simple. I can’t wait to read your post!
I actually listened to The Happier podcast last night! I wrote about it in my first post. Gretchen does have some pretty interesting tips and thoughts… I definitely find it helpful. Last night she talked about once a week Power Hour and this morning I woke up and started getting so many things done that I’d been putting off!
Also, I think the books for the kids is such a great idea! I’m sure when they are older it will be nice for them to read what they wrote as well. Can’t wait to hear about your first trip to New York! Have a great week 🙂
Love that the Happiness Project is making you…happier! It helped me a lot by incorporating little things. And it just helped me be more aware of the fact that I can control more in my environment than I think, and simple changes/shifts/tweaks can really improve my situation. I could feel your happiness in this post! Can’t wait to hear about NY, the retreat and more of your favourite parts of the day. AND I was so stoked to win the prize – I wanted it so bad lol Love all 3 things, and I love this linkup. Have a great day!
I’ve been trying to find time to read that Happiness book too but I was struggling to get into it. Good reminder about it, maybe I’ll dust it off and try again.
What is this Happiness Project? Will definitely go check it out now. I love the book idea. Cant wait to hear about NYC. Im going in May so would love to know what your favourite must see was!
