Plant based protein powders, they can be a hit or miss. Some taste good and have a good consistency, others don’t. And protein powders aren’t cheap either so it can be hard to invest in a big container of it when you aren’t sure if you’re even going to like it, am I right?
So today, I want to help you with that and share 5 of my favourite plant based protein powders.
5 Favorite Plant Based Protein Powders
1. Garden of Life
This is my go-to protein powder. I like the ingredients, the nutrition information and how it blends into my smoothies. I prefer the vanilla to the chocolate. I use the Garden of Life All-in-One Nutritional Shake which gives you 20 grams of plant protein, 1 gram of sugar and 7 grams of fibre.
2. Vega Sport Protein Powder – Chocolate
I’ll be honest, I don’t like most Vega brand protein powder, they taste chalky to me and I find them hard to take down. However, this Vega Sport Protein Powder, in chocolate only, is one that I actually really like. It’s one of the few that I can just add to water and ice, shake and drink. I mean sometimes, we don’t want to take the time to make a smoothie right?
One scoop has 30 grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar and 3 grams of fibre.
3. FeelFit Pea Protein Shake
I have a friend who is an Arbonne associate and she gave their plant based protein powder to try. It tasted really good and the consistency was great. The only thing for me is that is is priced quite a bit higher than the other protein powders I’ve mentioned here, but it is also a really great quality, so you have to weigh those things.
One serving has 20 grams of protein.
4. Genuine Health Organic Vanilla Protein Powder
Over the years, in my quest for looking for plant based protein powders I like, this was suggested by someone. I bought a small tub to try and ended up liking it. The flavour and consistency were pretty good. (They have changed the packaging but hopefully not what’s inside!) One serving has 20 grams of protein, 0 gram of sugar and 2 grams of fibre.
5. Isagenix Protein Powder
And last but not least, this protein powder is not one that I have tried…yet, but I am definitely going to. My friend Karla is a nutritionist and she swears by it saying it is really delicious and good for you. Just be aware that they have both plant based protein powders as well as non- plant based.
One serving has 24 grams of protein, 1 gram of sugar and 8 grams of fibre.
These are 5 Plant Based Protein Powders that I would recommend if you are trying to increase your protein intake on a plant based diet. If you have any favourites, please do share them with me.
