Happy Thursday all! We are enjoying this lovely Vancouver weather as we head in to summer vacation. Here is what’s been happening in my world for this week’s #3ThingsThursday.
1. Kindergarten Comes to an End
It’s hard to believe that today will be the last day of kindergarten for Keyan. I still remember the day he started and I remember how there was definitely some adjustment issues on both ends. But as I look back, I see how much he’s grown, learned and changed and I am really proud of this kid. Yesterday, we had a school trip to the park where the teacher individually recognized each student and told them something special about themselves. It was really wonderful and now we are looking forward to a great summer before the start of Grade 1!
2. Painting Party at 4 Cats Shaughnessy
Whenever we have a family birthday, we usually all go out to dinner and have a birthday cake. This year for my sister’s birthday we are doing something a little different. We are going to 4Cats Shaughnessy for a private family art lesson. We will be getting creative and making our own interpretations of this Here Comes the Sun painting. It’s going to be so much fun, I can’t wait.
3. Sports Day
With school almost out for the summer, there have been also been lots of school activities and outings happening. Both kid’s had their sports days and it was so much fun for them as well as for me. The spoon balance, sack race, three-legged race, all brought back lots of memories from when I was in elementary school and participated in sports day. What was your favourite part of sports day growing up?
Those are my three things this week and here’s how you can join in the fun! Write a blog post about three things you want to share. Grab the badge from the top of my post. Make sure to link back to either myself, Salma at The Write Balance, Raj at Pink Chai Living or Nisha at Love Laugh Mirch. Then click on the linky below to add your post. It’s that simple.
A family painting lesson sounds a great idea to do something fun and creative together! I’m going to have to remember that next time!
It was so fun Reshma, you should really try it out 🙂
Love the idea of a family painting party. And I’m sure it’s an experience you and your kids will enjoy and appreciate!
Ironically, I listened to a podcast today where they talked about buying experiences versus things because the experience will last a lot longer and create more happiness than a material item. So true!
I like that, buying experiences instead of items!
what a fun idea for a bday party rather than regular dinner and drinks. i love that outfit of yours.
Thanks so much Dixya!
