For a few weeks now, I’ve been telling you guys how excited I was to host our 2nd Annual Gingerbread House Party. We finally had the party this past weekend and it was a blast! Everyone had fun, made amazing gingerbread houses and had an all around good time.
It all started with this absolutely perfect Evite that I found to invite everyone to the party.
As the day came closer, we made sure we ordered pizza for dinner and had all our supplies we need to make the houses. On the day of, the kids were excited to set up everyone’s stations. Each station included a tray, pieces to make a gingerbread house, icing and then lots of different candies and chocolates to get their creative juices flowing.
That afternoon, there was a big rain and wind storm around the city, so most of our guests were delayed. So we had to be flexible with our timeline. We decided to eat dinner first and once our tummies were full, we got started on the Gingerbread Houses.
Each family got to build and decorate one house. To make it more exciting, There would be a contest and the favourite house would win a family prize! So everyone got started!
Once all the houses were built, they were so great, that it was hard to pick three finalists. We finally managed to narrow it down. Then we set a bowl down in front of each of the three houses. Everyone got a small piece of paper and they put it in the bowl in front of the house that they thought should win.
It was a close call and the winner was the Pink Chai Family! They won an electronic version of the family favourite game Uno.
Once that was done, we all had some fruit, dessert and of course chai. At the end of the evening, everyone left, tired, happy and excited to take home their Gingerbread Houses.
It was so much fun! We can’t wait to start planning next years Gingerbread House Party.
This post is part of a sponsored campaign in partnership with Evite. As always, all opinions and words are my own.
This looks so much fun. After all the hard work, I don’t think we can ever eat them 🙂
It was so much fun. And yes, it’s hard to eat a labour of love.
It was such a fun night! Thanks for having us, and for the awesome prize – we had a family card game the next afternoon.
So glad you were able to come!
Cool! It’s been years since I’ve had a big night like this! Just made ones with my nephews the last few years. But that’s more just a race to put it together before they eat all the candy…
Lol, yes, the candy is a bit irresistible.
